Relève en concert 4 : Ensemble Allogène at the MNM festival
A co-presentation of Innovations en concert and the SMCQ
The breathtaking intensity with which Ensemble Allogène approaches chamber music brings an intimate, thrilling interpersonal dialogue to the stage. Their idiosyncratic programming and clarity of focus set them apart in Montreal as a unique voice. Their new program Au-dessus de l’horizon consists of four premieres by Francophone composers: Denis Bosse, Français et André Hamel (Québec), and Cristina Garcia Islas (immigrant from Mexico living in Québec for the last seven years). Hence, the project reunites composers from the Francophone communities of the Old World, with their American cousins, as well as with a « nouvelle francophone » néo-québécoise.
For this concert Ensemble Allogène, normally an ensemble varying from two to seven musicians, will be augmented to a force of thirteen including soloist Marie-Annick Béliveau (mezzo-soprano) and Denis Bosse, who will perform the solo accordion part in his own work.
