Lancement d’album double :: Philippe Lauzier et DIáSPORA
Philippe Lauzier – A Pond In My Living Room
Philippe Lauzier‘s solo music explores sounds from non-Western sources and playful extended techniques. His work fascinates and hypnotizes, creating micropolyphonies, complex drones and delicate spacious moments. He concentrates on bass clarinet with occasional preparations, also using sampling to playback and overlap sounds from the clarinet, as well as others from synthesizers and field recordings.
DIáSPORA
DIáSPORA is a nomadic project, formed during an epic tour of Latin America (Argentina, Chili, Brasil, Colombia, Peru and Mexico) by Anaïs Maviel (voice, percussion) and Chiquita Magic (voice, synthesizers). It’s a rhizomatic human quest, a creolization of the contemporary world’s sounds through the exponential languages of drum, voice and electronics. A carnival of ancient futures – experimental songs carried through dance and trance which overcome all borders of esthetics and identity.
This concert was realized with the generous support of the SOCAN Foundation.
We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, which last year invested $153 million to bring the arts to Canadians throughout the country.
